“I think one thing that has kept our marriage healthy is a love for the core of who the other person is. In short, we try to love another for who they are, rather than resenting them for who they’re not.

It’s easy to fall in love with who a person is, and then come to resent them over time for what they don’t do or can’t become, which isn’t really fair or loving to the other person nor is it something we would consider fair and loving to be aimed toward us.

AND, to keep that core motivation front and center, uninterrupted time with one another is crucial to prioritize, as it reminds you-“Oh yeah…we really do love each other…this is why I married them!
